DESCRIPTION:Post Jazz / Art Rock Duo \nHeidi Heidelberg (GB)\, guitar\, beatbox\, vocals & composition\n \nMauricio Velasierra (COL)\, flutes \nWitch ’n‘ Monk (bis vor kurzem noch  Bitch ’n‘ Monk) steht für das Duo des rebellischen Colombianischen Flötisten Mauricio Velasierra and der anarchischen Britischen Sopranistin und Gitarristin Heidi Heidelberg.  In einer ungewöhnlichen Besetzung von traditionellen Amerikanischen Flöten\, elektrischer Gitarre\,  Beatbox\, und vor allem Heidis unkonventioneller Stimme kreieren die beiden Musiker einen unverwechselbaren\, eigenen Sound. Die Kollaboration steht für Dunkel und Licht\, Feminin und Maskulin\, Punk und Romantik\, freie und komponierte Musik. Das Ausloten von Extremen und Kontrasten ist dem  genre-überschreitenden Duo fundamental wichtig. \nHeidi Heidelberg\, die zeitweilig in Berlin lebt\, hat mit ihrem Duo schon Radiohörspiele\, u.a. im Deutschlandfunk musikalisch untermalt\, sowie Musik für preisgekrönte Filme und Theaterstücke geschrieben. Ihre Stimme verbindet klassische Coloratura mit Jazz Scat und Rock. Sie hat 2017 den ‚Nonclassical Battle of the Bands‘ Wettbewerb gewonnen und wurde für das prestigeträchtige ‚Take Five‘ professional development programme ausgewählt.   \nWitch ’n‘ Monk wird sowohl in der ‚traditionellen‘ Jazzszene gefeiert\,  ist aber auch in Britischen Underground-Clubs angesagt. Die Band spielte bereits auf Bühnen wie der Royal  Festival Hall (UK)\, La Cigale (F)\, Bimhuis (NL)\, trat beim London JazzFestival und dem Umea Jazz Festival auf. \nThe Guardian \n„Special mention to the intriguing Anglo-Colombian duo Bitch ’n’ Monk.
